Below is the result of a much anticipated DC trip. The last time I was in DC, I was a hairy gremlin child with similar company but with our parents guarding us and taking the most awful photos imaginable. The type from that 6th/7th grade era you delete from your facebook timeline - or, if you were like me, never had on your timeline because you weren't allowed to have a facebook until you were 16. In return for the blackmail photos, we were blessed with our parents proactivity in making plans and weekend trips which we as adults have come to realize we need to make an effort in doing. So while it is difficult to get everyone together, the last few months have given us a Cornell and DC trip... I think we can do better in the future but practice makes perfect.
Fiza and I took a bus down to to visit Mehvish a couple of weeks ago in May for a day and a bit. We also got to visit our good friends Barry and Donnie, eat hot Cheetos and Georgian food, bike around, dance, and catch up. While we may not be blood relatives, they are cousins to me - even though Mehvish would disagree. DC as a city was lovely of course but Mehvish's porch had myself and Fiza smitten. Overall, minus a bus debacle and sprint at the very end, it was a perfect trip. Thank you to Mehvish for showing her FAMILY FRIENDS around and keeping us and to Fiza for being a master planner.
