final1final2final3final4final5 I've been on the constant hunt for any piece of clothing that can be worn to work and then seamlessly transformed into something else for the rest of the day. I'd like to think that my usual style is not exactly suitable for a banking atmosphere, so it's been quite the challenge. While this dress is more preppy than what I would normally go for, the large gridded print and medium turtle neck have allowed it to become a good base for any sort of dressing up or dressing down. I've worn it to a party with heels, to work, and just out and about (pictured here). It was one of the better finds of a large order I recently placed to a Chinese wholesaler - which are always a gamble to purchase from and take some practice to get right.

img_9087-copyimg_1428img_9094-copyimg_9109img_1411-copyimg_1404img_1407-copy The above is a rendition of what I wore for the long awaited funeral of 2016. It includes all my favorite things in one outfit - varied textures, minimal pops of color, a hint of desi embroidery... and all on a black backdrop. The trousers have been a staple of mine this fall and winter as they go with practically everything I own and are far more forgiving on the winter body than other pleather pants. The top was a product of boxing day sales, and the shoes are my first big-girl purchase. Other than of course pots, hand soap, and a drying rack. I guess they're my first BIG big-girl purchase.

Not only was 2016 damaging to the world at large, but my blog also suffered as I transitioned from student to working young person. I've officially become the corporate slave/ side blogger that I dreamed to be.  I think I've pretty much gotten the hang of it, so more posts to come soon.

IMG_1646IMG_1639 While this bobble skirt is amazing, I'm more than over summer and decided to lazily pair it with my American Apparel tank that goes with all. More than excited to pair this with heavy boots, three coats and a knitted sweater to have the bobbles featured as I walk down the streets of NY in the dead of winter. For now, I will check the weather everyday for a chilly day to jump on that chance... and try and pump out the rest of the photos I took this summer.
